Though Esphyr Slobodkina devoted most of her attention to the development of her fine art, she is most widely recognized for her writing and illustrating of childrens books. The quintesential Slobodkina book is “Caps For Sale.” This original illustration depicts the caps flying down from the tree top, and is the climax of the story.
